Get the questions out of the way early

I've found from years of experience that I need to review tasks carefully before I complete them - and most importantly ask any questions about the task quickly, before I start work.

This is my process:

  • Read the task description carefully
  • Evaluate what other information I need to carry out the task
  • Send all my questions in one quick message to the client

By reviewing the task and asking any questions before I start work I avoid unexpected delays during my work - which is bad for me because it delays my deadline and it's bad for building trust with my clients too.
