Your VA has been hand picked for you by one of our delegation experts and you're both ready and eager to get started! Now what?
Here are our top tips on how to get started with your new virtual assistant to ensure a strong, long lasting relationship!
Step 1: Communicate
It all starts with Hello!
- Pick up the phone. The most effective relationships we see all start with a phone call. This is not only a great way to delegate your first few tasks, it is also a good way to get to know your assistant, what their skills are and how they can help you.
- Keep talking! You're busy, very busy, that's why you're here right? And we know how easy it is to let days (sometimes weeks) go by before you realise you've forgotten to delegate. Your to do list has piled up again and you're back at square one. Don't let it happen! Schedule a weekly call with your VA to run through what's been done and what needs to be done.
Step 2: Delegate
You can't do everything!
- Daily delegation Dedicate a small amount of time each day to determine what you can and should hand off to your VA. Focus on projects you want accomplished as well as regular processes you don't have the time to do.
-
Be clear and set expectations. When do you need your projects completed by and what do you need the end result to look like. If your VA doesn't have the skills you need for some of your projects then let us know and we'll sort it!
Step 3: Think long term
Short term pain long term gain
- Training Take the time to set your VA up and train them on the systems you use. This will save time delegating and explaining what you need in the long run.
- Branding Give your VA a company email address. This not only looks professional, it also means you can easily share your diary and your clients and contacts can liaise directly with your VA.
- Repeating If there's something which needs to be done daily, weekly or monthly then set it to repeat! You can set this up on the task page and means you can sit back and relax knowing it will be taken care of each and every time without fail.
Step 4: We're here to help!
Don't suffer in silence
